had a terrible day at work yesterday (though, apparently, not as bad as Fire's... *hugs*, hon). as they randomly showed up to revarnish my bathtub yesterday morning, decided to escape foul-smelling apartment and attempt to find the new Faith & the Muse CD at the big HMV and possibly distract meself with a movie. as it was driven home to me exactly how low the selection at HMV has sunk, i've proceeded to order it off the website ~ which has great advantages, as i also ordered a 5$ Gothic compilation and apparently i get a free sampler too! (yes, 'fana, your order was placed with mine. it'll be a few weeks though, due to their current European tour). after some tasty Chinese food, 'fana and i went to see Sinbad. Li met up with us there; we were 3 of the 6 people in the theatre, and this movie was exactly what i needed.

it roxxors. see it. really. it's by the same people who did Road to El Dorado (one of the funniest animated movies i've ever seen and a long-time favorite of mine); the characters (well, except for one) were well-rounded and interesting, Sinbad can swordfight like a god, the resident goddess of Chaos is all swirly and keeps fading in and out of the shadows, and there are absolutely WONDERFUL lines in it, several of which are intended to go right over the heads of small children and hit parents in the face... *evil grin*. just see it. trust me. i will be going again, as SG wants to see it (oh, hardship that that will be...) hehe.

working tonight, then off for the weekend. must see Pirates of the Caribbean and LXG this weekend. and spend time with SG. haven't seen much of him this week (miss you...).
nah,you have to be all cynical and stuff if you're gonna be a critic. i'd be a terrible critic. i LIKE most of the things i see. i'd have difficulty tearing things apart. well, maybe not, but i'd still enjoy the movie despite glaring errors. i just have really low movie expectations, i guess.
well we have much in common then because I too like most of what I see. the truth is, I just love movies in general.

we went to see Pirates last night, sold out so I FINALLY got to see 28 days later. egads....you know.... I went outside to pet the dog last night, the entire length of the back property sidles a creek and there are many trees creating a fence of sorts. well, dark, windy, quiet, you get the picture? I couldn't get in the house fast enough and was SO afraid to look out again. all doors locked, checked again *again* *again* and the shower curtain? yeah, it was open. I doubt I'll be looking up at the birds anytime soon either.... :)
hehe. it really does do that to you, doesn't it? *shivers*
