knee-deep in gladiators

i took it upon myself to watch Gladiator again last night. perhaps it has something to do with the lecture i attended on the first 100 days of the Coliseum the other day. our teacher asked the lecturer what he thought about the movie; the lecturer, rather than ranting and raving like a sci-fi geek, laughed and said that while there were a ton of glaring errors (and it's a tribute to how much i have to learn that i only catch a few of them every time, and even then, they're mostly the ~ is that right? i can't remember ~ kind) Gladiator captured the feel of the Coliseum and the games quite well.
