cymry: (Starbuck - home)
I'm not sure where June went. Time is both crawling and flying. It's been a rough month for me, and that's clearly reflected in my reading choices: comfort reading and manga.

Books
Hounded by Kevin Hearne - oh my. This was something. It wasn't BAD, in a campy, Mary-Sue kind of way... it just wasn't for me. I tried, I really tried to read the second volume but only a few pages in I had to put it down for sheer lack of interest in the characters and events. Just a little too over the top for me.
Moon Called, Blood Bound, Iron Kissed, Bone Crossed, and Silver Borne - by Patricia Briggs... again. Because I can never seem to get enough of these books, particularly when I can't deal with life. Escapism at its best.
The Betrayal Knows My Name by Hotaru Odagiri, volumes 2-6. So obsessed with this series now and it's making me crazy that the series just... stops. Even the sixth volume is only technically half a volume. Not sure what happened but I want to know what happens!!

I apparently didn't see any movies at all this month... I've had company instead, so my weekends have filled up pretty well with that. I went to walk down the shoreline at Cape Blomidon, visited Grand Pré, went to the Multicultural Fest in Halifax, and saw Guysborough and a good chunk of the eastern side of Nova Scotia. So I wasn't sitting idle, which is nice.
