back to basics

4 days of camping isn't our usual cabin week, but it was a good romp in the woods. much hiking, swimming, and tasty food was had by all. i'm still discovering new and entertaining bugbites on my body, i can't seem to get enough of showering, and i will possibly be the walking dead at work tomorrow, but that's all incidental. what really matters is the swim across the river and back, the Settlers game i will remain famous for, the sunset on the lake, hotdogs over an open campfire, and the never-dying Cthulu-log (also known as Cthulog). "brulez pas mon bois mort!" indeed. a little car trouble topped off the weekend.

i could have done with another day or two. i feel like i didn't get the solitary time i usually manage on these trips - there were no hours sitting alone on a rock by the lake, or on the dock, contemplating stuff. ah well, that's for next time, i suppose.

and now, back to the grindstone.
