the following article was partly featured on the front page of the Gazette this morning.
Main Connection: Bus No. 55

this was one of the final projects in the history class i was taking in the fall. i am completely amazed to hear that not only have they had it published in a history journal, but they've somehow made it to the front page of the Saturday paper. it completely boggles the mind. oral history is so underground, so obscure, that it's downright startling to see public acknowledgement of it in such a widely accepted form.

these 2 girls did an amazing project. i unfortunately didn't get to take the tour when the class did (the weather was absolutely horrible so i stayed home - major snowstorm-type day) but i've been tempted to download the file and give it a try. their presentation was very interesting. the article even talks about some of the other projects in the class (though not mine, since mine was more history oriented than oral anyway), and the teacher has a nice little side article on Oral History and the program at Concordia.

wierd moment. this is why i don't think i have what it takes to be a scholar: i'm only too happy to be done with a paper to want to keep poking at it, again and again, struggling for publication and recognition from every quarter. kudos to Nancy and Jasmine.
