Ile d'Orleans is like the Land that Time Forgot. houses from the 1700s, fields, mountains, and ocean/river all around, and a nice leisurely drive. the water levels in the St-Lawrence are horribly, horribly low, leaving huge exposed patches of rocky ground that used to be underwater at some point, but now look like some kind of foreign landmass. if i'd remembered my bathing suit, i would have gone swimming... and the random pasta bar in the chocolaterie was muy tasty.
