i just called my dad to confirm getting the car on Friday. after about 5 minutes of conversation, all i'm left with is:
"mumble, mumble, tires, mumble, Blazer, mumble."
"what?"
"fix tires, mumble, Blazer, mumble."
"am i getting the car or the Blazer?"
"it depends on, mumble. winter, mumble, mumble, driveway, mumble, tar, mumble, unuseable, mumble, balcony."
"same question."
"when's it coming back?"
"it's not. when you come back from Europe."
"oh. mumble, mumble, Thursday, mumble."
"but you said the Blazer was unsafe on open highway."
"yeah but mumble, mumble, tires."
"but you thought it was a gear problem."
"nah, mumble, winter."
etc, etc. ad nauseum.
*puzzled look* so, as far as i can tell, my father thought i WANTED the Blazer (which, admittedly, i originally did, for the added space) and so was going to fix it. now, considering the fact that my father is TERRIBLE about getting things done, that is unlikely. so i told him i wanted the car. now, it remains to be seen whether he's gotten the oil changed (it was due quite a while back). it just took a lot of deciphering (and yes, i'm guessing at some of it) to figure out...
