lalalala... ignite!
Jul. 23rd, 2003 01:13 pmmade it thru the 2nd overnite in a row without too much pain. if i never see another Romance book as long as i live, it will be too soon, but D and i did have fun mocking some of the covers/titles/authors. i think our collective favorite was the mystery author named G.M. Ford and the cover of a Fabio-looking guy sprawled on a bed with red satin sheets poised to growl seductively and lick his lips. we couldn't stop laughing (which, considering it was 3am and we'd been moving the Romance section for 2 days, might be easily explained). but everything's all moved around (even if i didn't get to play with the sci-fi section), i can now direct a customer to any book in the Romance section with my eyes closed, and i'm not working again til tomorrow afternoon. maybe i'll even get some sleep in there somewhere...
gonna take off in a couple of hours to meet a bunch of friends from high school. i haven't heard from Blondie since Monday, so i hope no one changed the date or time on me. i'm a lot less nervous than i was (hurrah for lack of sleep), so i'm planning on just taking things in stride. the fact that i get to listen to my new CDs on the way downtown is brightening up my day considerably.
the new Faith and the Muse CD roxxors. (i'll bring yours to work tomorrow nite, 'fana). it's different (there are at least 2 songs that are danceable, which threw me for a loop), but i mostly like it. that makes 2 where William Faith sings... he really should do it more often, as he's got a great voice, and it's a nice change from Monica Richards. the new Unto Ashes is okay, there are a couple of good songs. have yet to listen to the sampler and the compilation (will be doing that tonite). new mix CDs will soon be in the making... (note to self: i owe iopha a mix CD, don't i?)
( pwetty song )
