frankenstein makes a run for it...
Feb. 9th, 2003 01:11 pmi nicknamed my computer frankenstein several years ago. it's been relatively quiet since, requiring only the occasional file to eat every once in a while (the most recent one was the file i've been compiling for the last year on my family's genealogy... which of course the backup conveniently ate simultaneously, forcing me to start all over). recently, i've been getting several blue screens of death due to bad sectors, so i finally snapped and went out and bought meself a new hard drive (and, since i was there anyway, a new soundcard -- which, in my defense, was cheap and since mine is about 5 years old, it was time).
now, this normally wouldn't be a problem, except that said frankenstein objects fairly strenuously to having his parts removed and/or replaced. hence why it took SG over 4 hours to get it to work, and now my network is still malfunctioning (which, by the way, is a problem, as i put all my stuff on SG's computer before i took out my old HD). this should be interesting...
