i am having a particularly bad week.
Oct. 2nd, 2002 11:56 amit's nothing big, nothing exciting. just a pileup of regular, everyday stuff, which is managing to bury me somewhere underneath the lot of it.
it all started with the search for the infamous buspass. now, i have my finances very tightly planned each week, and had completely forgotten that i needed a buspass. hence, i had no cash, and needed to find somewhere where i could pay with my credit card. ordinarily, not a problem. unfortunately, after hitting 5 different places in a 24 hour period and getting various responses from each of them (ranging from "we're sold out of the student pass" to "you're not allowed to pay for a bus pass with a credit card") i finally gave up in disgusted frustration. will try the Concordia bookstore tomorrow; hopefully they'll have them. if not, then it's waiting til i get paid on thursday night and dragging myself all the way downtown on friday before work to pick one up. *swigh*
so, needless to say, i was a little tired and fed up when i got home last night. going to the dentist beforehand and being informed i have 250$ worth of work to be done on my teeth didn't help either. so i sat back and watched bad tv til 11:30, then decided to call it an early nite and catch up on much-needed sleep. unfortunately, my neighbors had other ideas.
the tv was so loud it actually woke me from a sound sleep at midnite. and also at 1. then again at 2:15. i debated calling public security, or perhaps just breaking down their door and smashing their tv with SG's katana, but couldn't figure out if the noise was coming from above me or below me. so i seriously debated laying out a sleeping bag in the kitchen (the only room in my apartment that is not bombarded by my neighbors' music or tv), but finally settled on doing some homework. by 2:45 am, everything was quiet (well, as quiet as it gets at night here, as my upstairs neighbors seem to be harboring a fishman in their bathtub which needs to be bathed in water every 2 and a half minutes -- it's the only explanation i've come up with for why the tap upstairs turns on for 10 seconds every 2 and a half minutes ALL NIGHT LONG). i finally crawled back into bed and collapsed.
i refused to go to school this morning. first of all, i don't wanna pay 4$ to get there and back, and second, i'm just too damned tired and worn out. i debated calling in sick to work tonite, but we're so short-staffed, i'd prob'ly get skewered. especially with inventory last night, and only A working on the 2nd floor this morning... gods, i wish that boy would just WORK...
