apparently, i was mistaken. it's not Calgary that i want; it's UBC. except that the idea of living in Vancouver doesn't sit right with me. there was something right about doing grad studies in Alberta, something like a feeling of homecoming. i looked on it as a challenge. Vancouver, on the other hand, is the complete unknown. i'll definately have to visit first; no sense going there if i can't stand the city. but the Calgary program is too focused on literature; U of Toronto has an interesting program, but exorbitant prices; McMaster doesn't look all that special. which leaves UBC, which seems to have a great, affordable program, with multidisciplinary options and a wide range of study, but... but. *frown* this will bear some more thought.
